.Race Reviews

In this section I'll provide information and reviews on the 1/2 marathons I've done!

Rock N Roll Half Marathon: Las Vegas
2009
Chip Time: 2:58:16
Review: This was definitely one of the coolest races I've done. Las Vegas is amazing as it is, so running up and down the strip was amazing. There were bands playing along the way, and you got a very cool finisher's medal at the end, along with a free meal from PF Changs!

Walt Disney World Half Marathon
2011
Chip Time: 2:55:47
Review: Anything Disney is just awesome. As awesome as this race was, going through the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, don't be disappointed if you don't hit a new PB. You can take pictures with characters along the way and there are a ton of people running, but friendly volunteers and characters to cheer you on! The expo here was amazing as well! Tons of vendors with very cool running gear that you can't find everywhere.

Edmonton Half Marathon
2011
Chip Time: 2:48:18
Review: My favorite part of this half marathon was that it was in my own city, so I knew where I was running. The route was familiar and besides the fact that it was +28 that day, I quite enjoyed the course!

Tinkerbell Half Marathon - Disneyland
2012
Chip Time: 2:50:12
Review: Very cool experience, especially because I did the trip with one of my BFF's! This one run through Anaheim as well as through the parks, and it was pretty fun! We ran the inaugural race, and there were characters along the way too, although I didn't stop. Again, a little hard to do a new PB just because there are so many people! Had a blast though.

Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon
2013
Chip Time: 2:43:07
Review: This race had one of the most beautiful courses that I've ever run! There were a lot of hills, but the view was breathtaking. Running in the mountains was amazing! The only downside was that they do not give medals to everyone, which we thought was very disappointing!

Edmonton Half Marathon
2015
Chip Time: 2:33:27 - PB!
Review: I LOVE how this course is flat. I love how I know where I am in the city at all times, and I love all the people cheering you on! It's so great to hear people cheering for you, and this year having Kendrick there near the finish line was the absolute best!

Rock N Roll Oasis Vancouver Half Marathon
2015
Chip Time: 2:34:37
Review: This course was hilly but beautiful. I was hoping for a new PB, but my training slowed down quite a bit after the Edmonton half so I was impressed with my time none the less. I loved seeing this side of Vancouver! The bands were great and the course was good. The only problem was the elevation really screwed around with my Nike app and the km's on the app were way off, so I had to adjust afterward.
